Scotland isn’t one of the countries that are on the top of the list of countries to visit for most travelers. Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow also happens to be the third largest city in the United Kingdom. Glasgow has been awarded the European titles of City of Culture (1990), City of Architecture and Design (1999) and Capital of Sport (2003). The city is renowned for its architecture. There are several significant buildings like the Clyde Auditorium, City Chambers, Glasgow cathedral, Glasgow University and much more. The city also has numerous museums and art galleries that cover a wide variety of art. 13 museums are alone run by the city council. The city has excellent music scene with several concerts, festivals and night clubs. The Barrowland Ballroom and King Tut's Wah Wah Hut are now garnering world acclaim. The city is also famous for its football. It holds two of the top teams in the Scottish league Celtics and Rangers and it is near impossible to get tickets for matches between these ‘Old Firm’ ties. As with any international city you have a wide variety of culinary to choose from. Most popular are British, Chinese and Indian food apart from European and Russian fare. The city has a magical aura around it and it will leave you spell bounded.
