Magnum Opus which was released in 1989. (Sorry Sufyan and Shohin, I was feeling bored so I watched it early moring).
We all talk about watching good movies... we see Scorsese, Kubrick... we see Kurosawa, Fellini, Ray....(and in Sohin's case Tarkovsky, Fritz Lang and possibly Kielowski) even good movies from contemporary filmmakers ...we recommend each other good stuff from past and present (there were some of Manish's recommended movies which I saw which were very good). But, I believe, at the same time... we should also heighten our horizon.
Good and Evil are two sides of the same coin. One cannot coexist without another. U can say the same thing about the movies. U can only appreciate good movies when u can identify the bad ones. Its the "bad" which makes "good" standout. And to find a movie which is so "bad" dat it is actually good is a rare thing. And "Clerk" is the ultimate movie of this kind of Genre.
This type of movies are sort of guilty pleasures, u know they are bad but still u watch it cause you enjoy the kind of regressiveness and tardiness in it. "Jaani Dushman" and "Papa -The Great" (Sufyan's recommendation) are couple of rare finds in our generation which possibly can come in this genre. This is very objective, What may work for me...may not work for others. At the heart of it what I want to say is that do not only watch good movie....too much of good is boring. Too much of anything is harmful. Watch some bad stuff. Its actually good. U will enjoy it.
